Judith, I am surprised that no one here has answered your question on Massasaugas. These little Sistrurus are a lot like the Pygmy Rattlesnakes, except that they come from an more arid area.
If you read the Article on the side about captive care and breeding the Red Pygmy or Carolina Pygmy, most of the information will apply to your Massasaugas.
You might also want to search the Experts section under "Massasauga," You will find quite a few threads where the snake is mentioned, but some of the threads deal with captive husbandry and propagation.
I kept a few Sistrurus c. edwardsi many years ago, but did not try to propigate them, as they were too young at the time.
I would think they would benefit from a winter brumation, and would breed in the spring, and would produce young in mid-summer.
Hopefully, someone here who has had experience breeding these animals will jump in.

Thank you so much for the advise. i dont know why i didnt think to research propigation on other pigs, slip of the mind i guess. i have a gravid female allready and have been extremely worried about her condition after birth. the article you mentioned has tons of great advise. thank you again and best regards--Judith
