I understand milking is not recommended for amateurs but,if someone did want to sell the venom, are there any license required to do so?

Nah, you probably don't need a license unless keeping venomous in your state it regulated. You would, however, need roughly in the neighborhood of $100k in lab equipment to do it in a manner that would warrant a venom lab to buy it from you.

snake venom in and of itself is not governed by the fda. you can milk snakes and sale it with no problems. the trouble you will have is finding a market. the big 3, haast, Harrison, and van horn keep the demand met and then some so there is little room for a start up. i have sold it to local colleges, students, doctors, and researchers who needed it in the raw state rather then freeze dried, but that is a very limited market. if you have the snakes already, when its needed, it helps with the food bill, plus you are helping out the person needing it, as shipping it in the raw state is very costly. but if you do not already have the snakes, there isn't enough profit in getting them, if your main interest is selling venom. hope that helps. oh, and learn what you are doing before you try....even pros like haast get nailed extracting.
