I have a Grammostola rosea now, she is my baby. I have had her now for 5 years and, well that’s about her age. She has only shed twice. Well.. Normally her special place of comfort is behind this wooden log i have where no one can see her. Lately she has been hiding more to the top of the cage where I have a ledge for her. Its also dark and warm but in all 3 years, she has always stayed behind that log. Could it be because it leaned a few times to one side and scared her so she does not want to be there anymore, or because maybe sometimes it too warm or.. I dont know? The crickets dont go there much.. maybe thats why? She has not been eating for a few months.. or not to what I can see. I will try feeing her some of them brown warms or a baby pinky.. but i dont know how to read her. Could she be planning on shedding? Please help me.

Chilean roses are nearly indestructible creatures. They are very hardy, and chances are shes just doing her thing. If you see her flipped over one day, don't panic, she may be going into molt.
Mine has stopped eating on occasion too but always started right back up. It wasn't for molting, but she never became anorexic (which is observable by a shrunken abdomen), so I never worried. I've had her for around 4 or 5 years as well.
Very hardy creatures.

Mylenne, you might want to post your question over on Dan`s Site at: http://www.venom-center.com/
They have a special forum titled Arachnids, sub- section Spiders that you can post your question once you register.
It is more likely you will find answers to your Tarantula questions there, as there are some real experts on 8 legged beasties who moderate that fourm.
Hope this helps.
Best Regards JohnZ
