ive have two captive bred and born baby cottonmouths. ive had them for about a month maybe a little less and the friend i bought them off of had them for about 2 1/2 months and said only one of them have eaten. my question is what can i do to get them to start feeding. ive tried frozen thawed pinkie mice and live feeder goldfish in their very large water bowl, but have had no luck i like these guys a lot i just want them to eat soon as im sure its not healthy for to go this long with out food and being so young. the two snakes are about 8 or 9 inches long both are housed in a 20L aquarium together and the temp is steady around 80-84 degrees F day time and no less than 70-75 at night. the basking spot was just taken two days ago and was 92. HELP please.

See the previous post from 21-NOV-2007 titled "stubborn cotton" and try the things that were suggested there and let us know if any of them work. And remember, alot of snakes stop eating this time of the year, even in captivity. Marty

seperate them. put them in a bow no more then 12 x 4 x 4. put in about an inch of cypress multch and a 3 inch water bowl on one end. put them where they can not see any movement. would be better if they are in a spot where they can't see lights being turned on and off. leave them there completely untouched, don't open the box at all, for about a week. then quickly drop in a live pink. close it and leave it over night. use a pink big enough to be crying and crawling around. if that fails. get a 4 inch deli cup. put them with the live pink in the deli and place it in a dry and warm place. leave them in there together over night.
