now I've seen some of this guys videos on youtube. I saw this and recognized his voice. Then thinking about it more and I realized what hes saying to a lot of people.....basically "gaboons are extremely docile docile enough so I can handle it like this." Now it wouldn't surprise me if someone who is stupid watched that video went and pciekd up their gaboon because they are supposedly "docile" now sure gaboons aren't super aggressive snakes but I've seen em when they're mad. I've also seen them strike out of no where. That's the magic about em, they seem calm sitting there but we have to keep in mind that they would unleash a world of hurt in the blink of an eye.
I just thought I'd show this since it was ludacris.
thanks,
Justin

I'll make no excuses for Albert's handling nor his choice of words, but there was clearly and explanation (and I'd bet a correction) coming when the person filming it cut him off. Not entirely his fault.

Unfortuantely that's the lumps you have to take. There are alot of people handling herps fpr alot of reasons. Unfortunately too many like to think it makes them look cool or tough. Truth be known that "WILD" animals can all be unpredictable. Many have different personalities. All should be considered and treated as dangerous.

I haven't seen it yet, I'll never understand why people want to do that other than the image thing.

I can not see how someone would free hand Cottonmouths at a reptile show. Even if the snakes in question are long term captives, there is always the possibility of picking the snake when it is in a bad mood, or perhaps fixing to shed its skin. And there is always the possibility of getting tagged by a snake that has been free handled many times in the past. It is not worth the the chance.
Best Regards

haha, interesting point there john. but that person who may or may not have free handled a cottonmouth, was handling his own snake, taking his own risk. i was commenting on the fact whoever was free handling that gabby was doing so on gherp time. how many balls will rob have to sell to make up for one gaboon envenomation?
