Did anyone watch the new show "Guinea Pig"? It comes on Discovery Chan. featuring Ryan Stock. Just curious what everyone thought.
If you didnt see the show, its about a guy (Ryan) who goes around and puts himself on the line in the name of science. On this episode he meets animal experts. He allows himself to be attacked, bit, stung and envenomated while giving the audience educational type information on the animal(s).
On the first episode he got stung by killer bees, stung by hairy scorp, kissed a tarantula, stung by wasp, bitten by bullsnake, carpet python, emerald tree boa and a venomoid cobra.

Sounds to me like DC is going downhill and jumping on the sensationalized TV bandwagon. I can't see how scaring an already damaged animal (venomoid)into biting you can offer ANY kind of valuable scientific knowledge.
I didn't actualy see the show, so I could be wrong... but I doubt it.

Earthguy, your not wrong at all. There was nothing said that couldnt have been done without harassing the animals. Here is a clip from the show featuring the venomoid cobra.

One of the final remarks from the show was "I was surprised how much I had to harass these creatures to actually get them to bite me".

I hope this is a short lived show because it sounds like "Jackass" with animals and animals put up with enough jackasses every day.

They already have a 'Jackass" with animals. It's called "wild Boyz".
I can't tell you how many times I've had people ask me if I can get one of my snakes to bite them. I'm often tempted to let my little rattlesnake bite them, but I'm woried she might get an infection. You can never tell where those people have been ;)

I really hate to see the Discovery Channel sink to this level. Hopefully, this show will not last long.
The types of stunts they are doing are far to similar to the clowns on JA and Wild Boyz.

I did see it the other night. It was a pretty crazy show.
That JCP was awesome looking though. That was the highlight of the show for me.

Justin, you are 17, so it is ok for "some of the wildboyz stuff makes me laugh."
That is what it is supposed to do.
Just remember to grow out of it in a few years, LOL !

yeah I probably will, most of the things they say are whats funny to me. I guess what I'm sayin they're doin it to be funny and stupid that guy on guinea pig is just doin it for no real reason other than shock value. That's what that show is made for...I don't see anything educational about it. lol At least on wildboyz they have a tiny bit of educational factor while about the location and they even include scientific names of the animals. But it's still stupid which makes it fun to watch.
