Atractaspids. They aren't vipers. They are burrowing snakes that have the common name "mole" or "side-stabbing stilletto" snakes. Mole is the term used for their burrowing capabilities and side-stabbing stilletto because they have fangs that actually poke out the sides of their mouths. When they strike, they actually swing and stab rather than shoot straight on. They are snakes that are impossible to pin.
