Rattlesnake roundups are inherently unpatriotic and un-American. The United States has more species of rattlesnakes, by far, than any country in the world, and we should be proud of that. The rattlesnake was an early symbol of the U.S., appearing on two of our first flags ("Don't Tread on Me"). Rattlesnakes are noble, venerable animals that only use their advanced weaponry to procure food or defend themselves.... the God-given right of every living creature, and any one of them is worth more than a town-full of hateful ignorant rednecks....
