I havent posted on this site in soooo long. lol Anyways, I wondered if you can help me with something. Is it possible for a, say, 2' C. atrox to climb a vertical cinderblock wall (or some other similar kind of fence you find in the west or southwest USA)? I know they can climb trees to an extent, but a vertical, slippery/dusty cinderblock wall? Is this at all possible (w/o the use of a nearby object)??
Thanks.

It doesn't sound likely if it's a finished wall. If it's an unfinished wall (just cinder block and mortar) and the mortar is done the "correct" way, it might be possible for him to get a grip in the mortar lines. An inside corner would be the more likely bet I would think.
Did you find one sitting on top of a wall, or is someone trying to figure out how one got in their yard?

I havent seen one myself, but Ive been having a debate with someone on another board who thinks Sedona, AZ is plagued with snakes that climb houses and fences and get into the houses through windows. lol I told them that it is highly unlikely, but theyre still adamant that it happens.
You can visit the site and see for yourself, maybe even join and reply. Im always on that site trying to help explain venomous snakes to those that have questions. Im hardly a professional, but I feel Im pretty knowledgeable about snakes and that was the first time Ive heard such a claim. Anyways go to www.city-data.com and then visit the forums. From there go to the Arizona boards and then click on the thread titled "Sedona". If you want, feel free to join the site and put in your 2 cents. Thanks!

O've personally never seen a rattlesnake climba wall. Generally anything vertical they would climb by body extension. Larger snakes are strong bodied but usually too heavyto extend too high without falling to one side or the other. I could be wrong but, never seen em in a window...
