All i wanted to know is if any one knew why eggs where all the sudden making me sick? thats all, why am i defending myself? i got a name to drop, do you know Brad McCarthy? ask him, my name is jason sappe and i will take some pics of the bills and me in icu if it makes you guys feel better or maby you have some specific questions about symptoms and time lines? i just think this is ridicules.

sorry dude, look at it from our point's of view. It seems just a little strange. And the way you responded, with all the cussing............yea, if you are an adult, you sure dont act like it. And nothing in the story makes sense. I could care less about Name dropping as well.

fair enough, i apologize to any one offended i just never expected to be called a liar, tox department at UPMC Presby 412 674 9922 ask them why crofab 01/29- 01/31/08 are the dates, i'm sure they will not disclose info about me but i'm sure they will confirm the case it was Dr Cannon by the way, this is just not what i expected from this site, you guys usually have a lot of good info and contacts, i don't know why crofab, maby ignorance maby that was all that was available i am not going to stick up for northeast doctors in this one but all i can tell you is that i had, a light burn and swelling that progressed up my arm, my hand and wrist swelled 2 or 2 1/2 times normal size with a slightly darker discoloration on two fingers and the bite side of the hand, it didn't hurt as much as it felt like it was going to burst, after fifteen minutes i started getting numbness in my lips and my eys where not focusing properly, after one hour i was having problems with focus my lips and toung whwer numb and i was notisably dizzy, at this point i'm not sure of the time but just before the crofab went in my hand and arm where swelled, it felt odd all the way into the same side of my chest, it had just entered my lymphatic system " pain in the armpit" i was very dizy, very slow eye focus. lips, toung, face, forhead, and fingertips

And possibley the mistake was that Crofab is recognized for Rattlesnakes native of the U.S. and didnt understand the Neo-Tropical as being exotic..
But again I wont pretend to know much . Sounds like a dumb screw up at the hospital................Shelby

Jason, you will probably not get a definate answer here about the severe egg allergy after a snakebite, as it is somewhat unusual.
Anti-venoms are known to cause serum sickness, mostly with ones that are made from horse plasma, however, serum sickness can happen with other anti-venoms including the fractinal ones like CroFab.
Anytime an foriegn substance is introduced into the body, (durissus venom and CroFab) there is the possibility of a bad reaction. There are many ways your immune system might react to those foreign substances.
I would suggest that you search Google under "severe allergy to eggs," and read the articles in MedLine and other online medical journals (you might have to go to a library to get access) about sudden severe egg allergies.
I would also suggest that you contact an Allergist who can test you for this allergy, and perhaps even offer a cure for it.
Hope this helps.
Best Regards JohnZ
