Is the husbandry of Naja naja polyocellata more difficult than Naja kaouthia? I have heard that Monacle's are good first cobras and was wondering if Spec's are more difficult to work with generally. I realise that no two animals are alike, but I am curious about the two species as a whole.

Spectacled cobras are now just Naja naja and I belive this sp has no ssp. Spectacled or Indian Cobras along with Blk paks are all basicly the same snake from differnt locals. For the most recent taxonomy on Asiatic Cobras check out Wolfgang Wuster's Venomous Snakes Systemactics alert which can be found under the "educational" sectoion of the link page here.
As for husbandry, though ive never kept Naja naja I have heard and seen the same as hotherp mentioned. They seem to be very similar in almost all aspects.
Hope this helps,
Jeremy
