Shorty, the first helpful tip would be for you to fill in your profile here and let folks know who you are, and your experience level working with snakes.
The second helpful tip would be for you to tell us just what type of venomous snake that you are interested in caring for.
Hope this helps.

Joel, because you live in Florida, you will require a permit from the Fish and Game folks to be able to keep an Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake. This is not as easy as it sounds, because they require 1000 hours of working with venomous snakes under the guidance of other permit holders. Sometimes people can get in their hours by helping out at venomous reptile stores, or helping out private individuals with permits. This mentoring process is a very good experience, as it will allow you to learn a great deal about the care of venomous snakes. You might want to check at a local Herpetological Society, and see if anyone with a venomous liscense would be willing to mentor you in exchange for help with cleaning cages, etc.
As far as Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnakes, they do well if they are captive born. They often do not eat if they are taken as adults from the wild. They require large cages, a good hiding box, and fresh water. Room temperature with a basking spot in the cage works well for them. They also require a strong snake hook to work with them with, as they can get fairly heavy. Also, because of the large amount of venom that they carry, a bite by one of these snakes is a very serious medical emergency.
Hope this helps.

Joel, the book: "Venomous Snakes in Captivity: Safety and Husbandry" by B. W. Smith would be an excellent starting place.
It can be purchased directly from:
http://www.reptileeducation.com/index.php?pid=15
or on Amazon.com.
Hope this helps.

Joel, there is no market in milking venomous snakes.
The people doing that are allready supplying the market with all the venom that is needed.
They have hundreds of thousands of dollars of lab equipment, and very well established businesses.
It would be almost impossible for someone new to break into that market. Unless you have hundreds of thousands of dollars to spend, and if you have that, why work at milking snakes for a living ?
Read the FAQ section here.
