What is a siam alligatot as referred to in this article from cnn. Possibly a Siamese crocodile but the picture almost looks like an American alligator.

Don't think I didn't think about that, but the fact that they are one of
the rarest crocodilians on Earth, I doubt they would be importing 2000 of
them from Thailand for tourist to eat.

Siam is the old name of a country in southeast
Asia, and the picture shown in the article was an American alligtor. So I'm just guessing they have alligators there in the Siam Zoo. Also, beingthere are only prox. 700 individuals of China gators there are many more in captivity...

Siam is currently known as Thailand.
In Thailand there is a crocodilian farm that breeds all crocodilian species (featured on National Geographic TV shows). It is very possible that the pictured animal is an American Alligator which was bought from the Croc Farm in Thailand.
There is a Chinese Alligator which is very rare and there is a Siamese Crocodile (Crocodylus siamensis) which is also very rare.
There is a very short piece on the Siamese Crocodile (and Brady Barr) in January's National Geographic.
