It appears to me to be a baby Common Boa, Boa constrictor imperator, often sold as "Colombian Red-Tailed" boas, though without seeing the rest of the snake, it's difficult to tell for sure if it's a B.c.i or "true Red-Tail", B.c. constrictor. I've never thought boas' faces looked "evil" at all, really, but quite cute, especially when they're babies.

Timbers have been occasionally referred to as 'velvet tail'. The usage is not common any more.
