Hey I was trying to meet some tampa folks and wanted to see if you might want to get together? Anyone else from the area as well. I'm new to the area and just trying to meet some fellow snake people lol.
Thanks Chris

Chris:
I can usually be found herping at the Flatwoods park off Morris Bridge Road. It's an excellent bike trail that is paved and tend to see many snakes while riding. It also has hundreds of bike and hiking trails that extend over almost 20 miles and is actually multiple parks connected by the trails. Many of the bike and hiking trails have been shown to contain many species of snakes as well as other assorted animals. I will usually look for Gopher Tortoise burrows which are many and have found a huge variety of species sharing the burrow including EDB. I am usually the only only trouncing the trails with a snake hook and my digital camera in hand, and the park rangers are pretty cool about it. I usually try to get to the park at least once a week sometimes twice, it just depends on my work schedule at the Poison Control Center.
I also would recommend joining the SunCoast Herp society which meets in Clearwater every month at Moccasin Lake if you don't mind the drive. They usually have a monthly speaker, members are always bringing in animals, and you can't usually purchase equipment, ie. cages, tanks, hooks, tongs, etc. It's a great way to network with people in the area.
I don't know my availability currently because I have a bunch a family coming in June and July, but drop me an email with contact info and I'll get back to you when I'm free.

Thats funny thats where I go but I go down where the equine trails are. I go almost daily because my wife boards a horse near there so I'm always out in that area looking. I tried to email you with the address on your profile before I started this thread and it wouldn't go through but I try again. I'll definitely get with that group as well. If I can't get through this time my email is on my profile if you want to contact me.
Thanks Chris
