Hello, I have been keeping copperheads and pigmy rattlesnakes for about a year now and other non vens my whole life and I am considering getting a pair of Eyelash vipers. I have a few questions for any Eyelash keepers our there if they don't mind sharing husbandry tips. What is the best temperature to keep them at during the day? Under a light source? (if needed) and
at night? I am hoping to get captive bred established animals of 1 year or older so feeding is not a problem. How often should they be fed if they are juv. to adult size. Also what is the best humidity level for the cage? Is some sort of misting machine required?
How often should I mist the cage, and how often should I take them out to mist them so they are hydrated? Also what is the best cage size for a pair? Thanks for all the help you can give even if you can answer just one of the questions I will be happy and very thankful, Derek

Derek,
I kept schlegs for some time, and will convey what I know to you.
I heat my entire snake room to the upper eighties, and everybody does great.
I fed them every ten days to two weeks, and always what seemed to be too small a meal. By that I mean if it looks just right, get a little smaller mouse. At a year old, mine ate just born pinks- the smallest of the litter. At two years now they eat little fuzzies.
They drank right from a water bowl all along, but seem to love a good misting every four or five days.
They went from twelve inch Neodeshas to two footers at a year old, and on into three footers as adults.
hope this helps, good luck
Shaun Keeney

Hey thanks a bunch. I have another quick question for you. What was the humidity level in the cage, and how often should i mist them to keep the humidity level up? Should i use some sort of humidity machine to keep it up? Thanks again for all of the help :)
