Folks,
you are generalizing about Californians and are stepping over the line.
Many of the best herpers I have ever met are Californians.
One comes to mind who recently was moved by his job to Northern Georgia.
He inquired and learned the Georgia laws and then got right to herping legally in the great state of Georgia. Not everyone that lives in or leaves the state of California is a negative. Just as, insert any other derogatory generalization here, isn't.
Please do not go out of your way to offend people here. There is plenty of that to go around.

On the basis of your personal voucher, I will vacate the order in the solitary instance of your acquaintance. There are, after all, a few exceptions to every (social) rule.

I find it interesting the popularity of the U and V shaped hooks...it looks like someone stepped on them. And the actual usability to those hooks are nothing more than a marketing scam. Nothing beats a good ol fashioned L hook...
IMO of course :)
And Z I'm glad I can take credit for the idea of the bikini snake removal video...
Snakes, Martial Arts and sex...the only 3 things I know anything about and not nescessarily in that order :)
and the only thing I know about sex is that it sells! so why not use it to our advantage

OMG, I lived in CA from 1986 until I think 1994, then WA and then NV since 2000.
There are good Californians; some of the best allies I have are on CA dog list.
I am talking about city-slickers form CA the kind that leave CA because it is $$$ but want to bring their stupid ideas/communist laws with them to the new locations, the all about their needs people
.
The CA folks who leave in search of freedoms are awesome.
The physician featured in on eof REXANO videos:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yDlg2Ly4v0
who got his golden wings when younger and worked for NASA astronaut families , who died the same day like Stewe Irwin, who was my friend and taking care of my cats when I was travelling, and whose widow is still my neighbor and friend, they are from CA, but not originally, and they were the best, but they moved here to be left alone, not to bring stupid CA crap with them

PS: Terri,If another snakes shows up, there will be more videos since bikinis is my normal attire in this weather, but i will not stage anything, no staged snakes appearances. So we have to wait for the next snake/intruder to show up voluntairily and I have to find it to film it, many IFFS will do my best.:)

I haven’t had much time lately, but most of my time in AZ was spent in swimsuit, jet skiing between Lake mead and Lake havasu. I didn’t see any dumped pet crocodiles or alligators though;-)

OK, I don’t think I can hook the coachwhip snake, too FAST. Today was one of the rare days when I was just wearing rubber sandals instead of boots to work on the property, since I was working with plants and water hose. I was in the area where I could easily see the ground, and all of a sudden I feel this weird movement on my feet, kind of like water from the water hose I was holding, but not quite. I look down and there is this pinkish snake slithering fast across my feet, my heart stopped, and I am thinking, I am sooo F…D. For a second the pattern looked like pinkish version of panamint Speckled rattler we see here a lot.
Then after 1 second I looked at the tail, NO rattles. RELIEF.
Anyway, I run inside and did some video footage as the snake was leaving, but what a rush. Anyway, this snake was little over 3 feet and FAST but very pretty. I might put the footage on YT on ReptileHaven channel if I find time.
