Sorry everyone...I've been out of town and not anywhere near a computer. The shavings I use for all my feeders are pine shavings. I don't use cedar for the fact of it being or could be toxic. I raise all of my mice. There are no chemicals around. I am very anal about that. I have them frozen and am in the middle of negotiations with two vet hospitals for doing the necropcies (pardon the spelling error, I'm sure). I have some cash for it, but I'm trying to get the best deal. The young were housed right next to them. I had more snakes on the racks above them and below them and on both sides. I have yet to loose another snake.

Have you had any power failures in your area? (There has been a lot of severe weather problems lately across the U.S.) Possibly, some of the mice thawed, went bad and refroze. In his YouTube comments, Viperkeeper (Phobos) said that he thought refrozen rodents may have killed his Naja pallida, Little Red.
As to a necropsy being too expensive, it would be even more expensive to replace his entire collection. His other snakes have been OK so far, but it had happened to me, I would want to be able to guard against another wave of deaths, if possible.
