I just uploaded a picture of my largest Crotalus adamanteus on my profile pic. Lets see if we can get a show of the largest specie of rattlesnake. I am sure everyone would like to see the big guys.
Lets all have some fun and send in some great pics
Thanks

JS, that's one impressive snake. My current largest (5')has a ways to go before she's ready to post on this thread, but I hope some others will come forward... that's a great idea, and I would much enjoy seeing more photos of giant diamondbacks (or C. basiliscus or huge C. horridus). What's the actual length of that snake? (hard to judge from the photo).

Not technically a diamondback (C. basiliscus):

Thats cheating you guys, lets get some pictures where the snake and handler are in the same depth of field...no need to create another 98 pound rattlesnake

Thanks Gentlemen,
I enjoyed seeing your pics. Lets try to get some more people posting.
The diamondback on my profile picture is 6 foot in length. I understand the angle is a little deceptive and I am a short guy. However I think he is an impressive example of an eastern diamondback. He is about as "puppy dog" in temperament as you could ever wish for, although he is an aggressive feeder. He is captive born, I have been responsible for his care since he was a baby. He is 5 years old in the picture, six years old this year.
Thanks for the pictures posted lets see who else is out there that has some good pictures.

Wow, looks closer to 7 or 8 feet in the photo.... I see what these guys are talking about. Still a nice snake, though, and Larry's MWC sure is a fattie. But, as an old snake trader I knew once said, "It ain't the size o' yer pencil, son... it's how ye wrat yer name." Anyways, bet I'm still the only one around with a three-headed copperhead... (speaking of camera tricks).

"...and Larry's MWC sure is a fattie."
I wouldn't call him that to his face if I were you. :)

No worries, Larry... I'd never call a rattlesnake ANYTHING to its face. They're one creature that is best talked about behind their backs!
