Taylor is not that bad lol. I vend it every month. It is the largest show in Michigan.
I have been talking to the person that runs that show about maybe doing a yearly show that allows venomous. Or maybe starting a second show that maybe allows venomous a few times a year. It is not an easy thing to put on a venomous show.
The hot ohio show will not be returning as a hot show. but it will be back as a nonvenomous show. The cost to put on a hot show and not have vendors support it is to great and the person that runs that show was paying a lot out of pocket for the few he put on. He is a great guy but man he can only do so much.
i am in Ohio. If I every hear of a hot show I will post it.

Well I know it's far from Michigan, but I have been promoting the Texas Reptile Expo, held in San Antonio for 8 years, and it's a "hot" show.

i know how you feel danny, i also live in michigan as a venomous keeper. there was a hot show scheduled in lansing a year ago but it was canceled as was the one in northern ohio. unfortunately, the closest ones are in wisconsin, penn, and s.c. occasionally i will see some local private collectors put some animals up for sale on kingsnake but thats few and far between.

The hot show would not be in taylor but we would have another show up north a bit in a county that allowed venomous.
It is in the works but nohting really solid yet.
I would not mind putting on the show myself but the cost to get it going is a bit over my head.

i am really not sure of whats involved in putting a show on, i imagine that first of all you would have to find a place to hold the show, also advertise like crazy to let people know its going on, not to mention getting the word out to vendors and hopeing they will show. also, any permits or whatever. i would be willing to help in anyway i can to make that happen.

Sewerfest is in Racine Wisconsin (South of Milwaukee) on October 26th, 2008 from 10 AM until 3 PM. Venomous snakes are allowed. Snakes native to Wisconsin cannot be bought or sold unless they have atypical color or pattern AND are not endangered or threatened so don't expect there to be any Eastern Massassauga or Timber Rattlesnakes.
Here is a link to the Sewerfest website: http://www.sewerfest.com/
You may be able to save some time traveling from Michigan by taking the Lake Express Ferry from Muskegon to Milwaukee and back. Here is a link to to information about the ferry: http://www.lake-express.com/default.aspx
