Well,
I feel just horrible right now. I got up early this morning to spray some fence rows. My rhino is in the shop getting some routine maintenance done and it wont be ready until later today. Since I didn't have it back yet, I decided to hook up the big sprayer to the tractor. I was easing along spraying when I noticed a snake at the edge of the fence row. My reaction time wasn't quick enough and I ran over it.
Upon closer inspection of the snake I realized it was a cottonmouth in the process of giving birth. I managed to squish mama and the two babies she had already given birth to.
I feel absolutley horrible right now. I have really been wanting a cottonmouth to add to my collection and one of them babies would have been perfect. I know alot of people dont like it when someone takes a snake from the wild but I have tons here and I had been waiting for a baby. I'm hoping that maybe there might have been more that did manage to get away at an earlier time.
Well I just thought I would share this, I'm gonna go
Y'all be good
Anthony

I hit a Box Turtle last year with my truck. I could not see it because of the car in front of me. That ruined my whole week. Normally I will pull right over and move them when I see them. Sorry man, I know you feel like crap, but next time you rescue one you will feel better.

Things like that happen.
Not much you can do about it.
A friend of mine was bushogging a overgrown field with his tractor a couple of weeks ago.
A poor old box turtle was burrowed down into the tall brush and grass, and got scrambled by the bushog blades.
For what it is worth, the turtle probably did not feel much pain.

I do feel pretty good that there are alot of cottonmouth and copperheads on my property.
Alot of times when I'm out checkin the cows, I'll get off the rhino and walk around. Most of the time in the evenings, after it has cooled down, I can easily spot alot of snakes. Mostly cottonmouths.
Another thing I hate is when I'm cuttin hay and kill a baby deer.
But on a good side note, about 2 years ago I was able to spot a baby before I killed it. I was glad to have been able to save that one. It couldn't have been more than a few days old, and mama was nowhere to be found.
I took it to a friend of my dads who bottle fed it, and now it is a full grown doe who lives in his horse pasture with his horses. It is very tame and loves to come up and eat marshmellows out of your hand.
It is completley free to come and go as it pleases, but feels content to stay where it's at.
Y'all be good
Anthony

I was mowing the grass once and I heard an odd sound, so I looked down. I was standing in the remains of a gravid rough green snake. The snake was in about 5 pieces and the eggs were laying amidst the carnage. I went in the house.
There are a few of us left in the world. Not many, but there are a few of us.

One day while riding home I ran over a pine snake...... It was a very hot day and i was on a paved road and wasnt expecting anything to even be moving. I seen it at the last minute and swerved to miss it. I ran over it a little on its side and it slithered into someones yard. It tore the scales off and it was bleeding. I took it home and applied neosporin to the wound.... Thats all i could think to do. Kept it for about a month and the wound healed up nicely. It was drinking water and all so i released i back into the wild!!

There is nothing wrong with taking from the will as long as you do it responsibly.. Most of everything thing I have is wild caught except for the exotics..
