Chris, there are many reliable reptile dealers out there, and there are a lot of scuzzy ones also.
Glades Herp in Florida is generally thought of as being a good one.
You might look at the site called Fauna Classifieds, as they have a review section where folks can file complaints or write compliments about various reptile dealers.

I have personally dealt with Matt Crews from Victory Reptiles and William Allbright from ahp exotics and have received superb animals and service from both. I have dealt more often with Matt and all his animals are top shelf.

Monte is right, both Matt and Billy are very good folks to deal with.
I see that Chris is in Washington State. Do they have reptile shows there ? Shipping animals is always stressfull to them. If you have West Coast Shows that you can attend, and meet some of the dealers in person, that might be a very good thing to do.

I could be wrong because the laws have been changing so much lately but I do believe it is illegal to keep any venomous reptiles in Washington state.
I am pretty sure that was one of the reasons that Jeff Miller (see Articles section "Venomoids - an Overview")left Washington for Arizona.

The best of luck to you. The sellers I mentioned wouldn't even dream of selling you animals anyway if you weren't in a state that allowed venomous or if you didn't have a permit in a state which required one. I just left a state which didn't allow any Non Native hots and was next to impossible to obtain a permit, so I feel your pain.
