Z is right on the money. There is a HUGE number of people who freehandle snakes behind closed doors. I've flipped through people's myspace profiles and it's freakin' scary to see WHO does it and just how many people actually DO do it. What's even scarier, is many of the people also have pictures from the snake bites they've received. Whether they've been from freehandling or not, it's all related. Unsafe practices, complacency, and lack of respect for the animal's abilities will get you hurt or worse.
But, as long as you look cool in the meantime.....

Z I worked with tigers at a private zoo in wisconson and I grew up with several people who had tigers and lions.I have always loved cats and am getting more bobcats in april.

I have been handling reptiles my whole life and still haven't gotten the samonella. It kills me how they always talk of this disease like every reptile has them. The only time I have ever gotten sick from it was when it was food poisoning. Now animal need to take responsibility for making sure people who are getting large pythons know what the hell they are doing.

Also they make a big deal of 11 people dying in 28 years. WOW it seems like there more then that a day dying in Atlanta from car crashes but it seems like they don't want to band that.
