Display cages? If there's a good demand for strong and safe, wood and plexi-glass (I could do glass if someone wanted glass instead) display cages I can build some on demand. I made one the other day and it turned out really good. I can get pics of the one I made and make them in bigger or smaller sizes. Also I need advice on the one I already made. (It is a top opening cage). I am not a venomous keeper, so I'm not sure how venomous keepers will like this. I can get pics within the hour. E-mail me for pics at urlacherfan_93@yahoo.com.

Jonathan, I am in the process of building many of my own cages. And I can tell you this. There is a HUGE demand in the market for a secure, and AFORDABLE new cage model. I know many folks who build and even takle custom orders. If you dont mind the work put into them, it could be a good way to make a little money, and provide a good product for other keepers. Of course, hand-building cages will never turn into a big business, but, for fellow keepers, you could have a decent little busniness setup. Perhaps even sell them at the herp shows? I personally would LOVE to see some pictures! Email me a few shots if you get a chance. I love seeing others cage designs, as I build all of my own cages aswell. I do not use top-opening cages for many reasons, but would still like to see the photos. Take Care. ~John Mendrola.

The demand is there. If you go to EBay and search reptile cage or snake cage, you will find a dude who builds fairly expensive wooden cages and sells them from his EBay Store. And if you check through the completed sales search, you will see that he sales a lot of them. He is selling hundreds of reptile cages a year from that site. Others sure could compete with him. John, yep, that is the outfit. They have been selling on EBay for several years now, and slowly growing larger, and offereing more cages each year. The prices do not seem too bad, but I bet shipping costs would ad a lot to the cost. Like you said, it is a good way to get ideas for designs that you can build yourself. Best Regards John Z
