Back in 1995 i went to six flags in Georgia and if you have never been there, There is a tunnel you walk through to get to the back of the park. Just before the tunnel on the right there is a wall with some nice grass and landscaping with a big boulder in the middle. While i was leaning on the wall facing the grass had my head down, And when i looked up about 6 ft away was a huge coachwhip stiking his head out from under the boulder staring at me. About 2 1/2 ft of it's body was sticking out and it's chin was about 3" off the ground. At the time i had never seen a coachwhip and due to the biege / tan coloring it was the only snake i could think of, native to Georgia that i could identify it as. I estimated that it was probably pushing 7 ft By comparing it to some grey rat snakes i have caught. It was very impressive to see. It's amazing when you realize that it probably watch's 1000's of people a day walk right by it and that they never even notice it.Does anyone else have any strange snake sightings?

I captured and relocated a Southern Pacific Rattlesnake from a trash can at Lego Land (northern San Diego). I'm still confused on how it got into the trash can, the snake was only 2'6", and the can was four feet tall. There were no objects around for it to climb up to get into the can. The trash can was also located near the center of the park, a good distance for a snake to travel undetected, and in a theme park full of children! By far the strangest capture I have ever done.

Once in Sparta GA at my stepfather's hunting camp when I was young I was taking a shit and saw a black racer crawling through the feces. Needless to say that's the one that got away.
I was talking to my friends grandmother once who use to live in India back in the day. She said she opened the closet once and a mongoose darted inside where a cobra awaited.

When I was about 16, At choir practice at my church, we were practicing in a downstairs room with ductwork/vents around the walls up near the ceiling. During the middle of rehersal, we were standing while singing, and I am in the back...out of the corner of my eye, I notice a small (probably 20") juvenile black rat snake creeping out of the vent "horizantally" on the wall...Well, I knew half of the elderly ladies in our choir would pass out if they saw it...I just watched it until a. I knew what it was and that it was not venomous and b. that there was enough of it out of the vent to make a grab. So mid-point during "How great thou art" I made a calculated capture and immediately exited stage left and none of them were the wiser until I came back. Needless to say, they were mortified, but I am sure I saved the snakes life as everyone there would have diagnosed it as a "southerndiamonbackmoccasincobra". And for the record, i am Presbyterian. This is probably the first "snake handlin" ever done in a Presbyterian church!

Boy Howdy,,,,,This topic took a turn for the worse in a hurry. My experience, Canebrake, 5' inside city limits. That was new, but not unique...... Sierra has a scull on her mantle, but I don't think a snake crawled thru it.....maybe she was speaking hypothetically.....sorry girl....
