Hey everybody.
I was just curious if anyone has ever produced either broadband X Northern crosses, or Broadband X Southern crosses with copperheads?
Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season!!
Take care,
Anthony

I have produced some of the naturally occuring intergrades including Broadbands x southerns. They tend to be a touch bigger babies than typical southerns and are pretty easy (for baby aggies) to get started. They can be very pretty lil snakes, orange color shades expressing in hourglass bands and nice pale beige backgrounds. Whats up?

I don't have a problem with producing (or should I say reproducing) naturally occurring hybrids like the Northern x Southern or Broadband x Southern if the breeders are already hybrids, but I disagree with crossing two 'pure' subspecies just for the sake of doing it (besides, since there are already naturally occurring crosses then we know what the outcomes are).
And although copperheads and cottonmouths may cross naturally in the wild, this is probably an extremely rare occurrence, and I think to do so in captivity is irresponsible. I guess the bottom line is just because you can doesn't mean you should.
Just my opinion.
