Once again we have entered that part of the cycle where people are creating profiles with just a name or nickname and then asking and answering questions.
Some things to consider come to mind.
If you ask a question (and care at all about the answer), don't you want to know that the person you are getting an answer from, knows what they are talking about?
If you click their profile and get "Boxcar Willie" who is "old enough" and is a "jack@$$ofalltrades" who lives "out west" - well what amount of credence do you put on their answer that "Sure, mambas make great starter snakes."?
Likewise, some answers are more complicated than "According to the LD50 chart on VenomDoc's webpage ..."
What you do for a swelling eye on a Ball Python that is your first snake is not necessarily the same thing you would do for a swelling eye on a four foot long Bothrops asper that you have kept for the past ten years.
I personally do not spend a lot of time working on an answer for someone who doesn't even bother to fill out their profile. It's not my job to speak for everyone here but an awful lot of the the people who can accurately answer some amazingly difficult questions feel the same way about it.
So, save yourself some time.
Be considered and treated with the amount of seriousness that you feel your question deserves.
Fill out your profile!

PS - For all you "old curmudgeons" - No I can't make that a permanent part of the forum page. Wish I could but no. Be nice - don't eat the newbies! KHB
