The snake appears to be one of the harmless Cat-Eyed Snakes, of the Leptodeira group. It is not a Fer-de-Lance. That is one of the easier snakes I have had the opportunity to identify (I believe). That is Trimorphodon biscutatus - the Lyre Snake. It is rear-fanged but its venom is only mildly toxic to humans. That does look like a Lyre Snake. I knew they ranged through Mexico, but it is nice to learn that the subspecies Trimorphodon biscutatus quadruplex is found throughout Central America. Wow, the Lyre Snake definitely looks a lot more like the snake outside my house than anything else.
