I just heard from Dean Ripa about the Bushmaster Book. Here is what he had to say:
"I am holding what is once again supposed to be the final proof in my hands. The trouble has been that with each new proof I have to go over everything, 585 coffee-table size pages, and make sure nothing is left out, that my previous corrections were all made, etc., for as you know computers can glitch and it has happened before that sentences and even whole paragraphs mysteriously disappeared.
Then I have to send the proofs back to Hong Kong, get in line again at the printers (Paramount Printers, they did Greene's "Snakes" book for his publisher) and wait for the next submission. So far I have been through about 10 such proofs since September 2007! Increasing the book 100 pages didn't help matters, as I got new and better photos. Much harder than the simple CD Rom book from which all this started. I must say, though, that what I am looking at now must rank among the very best snake books ever put together. It will probably end up selling for quite a bit more than the 125 bucks for which it is advertised, but all those who ordered ahead of time and waited will get it at that first price.
I am very sorry for having made so many people wait, but I really had no idea when I started what I was getting into!
So, if I send this proof back on Monday, get the corrected proof back again in about two weeks, and god willing everything is in order, and I give the word to print, we should have some first copies trickling in by about middle March - enough to fill the pre-orders, anyway. The main load will come by ship about a month after that. That is what it is looking like now.
Please let people know that I am doing the best I can with this monster project! Also, anybody that needs their money back for other things can get it at anytime, just ask."

So, it looks like we might have this great book in March, 2009. I really do not mind waiting, as I know that this will be an epic book.

I bought the CD-ROM a few years back and thought it was outstanding. I can only imagine how impressive a coffee-table type hardcover book would be.
