Hi,
My brother and I have a 5 foot Brook's Kingsnake.
We didn't notice it until after we got him, but below his vent is larger than above his vent.
I was telling a zookeeper at the Tulsa Zoo about it and he said that this is most likely an impacted scent gland.
Can anyone tell me how to help heal this without spending a ton of money at a reptile vet?
Is there anything I can soak him in?
Anything is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Jon Short

Jon, I would get a second opinion on this. It's certainly not a common condition in snakes (dogs, yes), but if that is what you're dealing with, you will need to take it to a vet anyway for treatment.
