I donate a few dollars to this site monthly under a different name that will no longer happen.
I like a good debate and so on but pictograph1 or whatever you call yourself
You know I don't really care haven't posted here in months why start now.

Eric, how about sending me an EMail and letting me know just what you posted about the scammer ? I would like to know exactly what language was used that got deleted.
Trying to warn folks here about a scammer should be good thing.

I have the utmost respect for you and you are one of the best moderators not to mention people I have met on any forum.
This email is what irritated me
           " Your post was worthwhile.Please try it again without the profanity.R/Karl"
Is that what they tell the scammers as well? Doesn't matter I'm done.

I received an email from a Dr Lauren from cameron in response to a wanted ad I posted looking for monitors, this person claimed to be a large breeder/wholesaler and had what I wanted, although the email said nothing of the species just pay shipping and pay for the reptile once it arrives.
The email was obviously a scam so I replied with a little hate mail.
Last night I get a buddy request on yahoo messenger from reptilel this was the same person that sent me the email guess they don't speak english very well and thought my hate mail reply was an inquiry.
I played along asking them if they had this and that, the replies were rehearsed at best and the answers to my questions were very vague.
The point if your looking to buy ask questions these scammers can't answer the simplest questions about the imaginary reptiles they are trying to sell, their english is terrible and it's actually funny to get them on instant messenger.
You really have to be a moron to get scammed by these people.
Ask questions before buying, use common sense if you don't have any ask a friend.

Eric, thanks for the warning about Dr. Lauren.
As far as: "I feel the post should have been edited not deleted."
Due to the very old code this site is based on, site managers have only one option, and that is to delete a post. The site does not allow editing of posts.
I suppose we could copy a post, then delete the original, then repost the copy and make changes before it was final posted, but then, the post would not have your name on it anymore, it would now have the site manager's name as the poster. You can see how confusing that would be.
It is much better to leave out language that should have been left out in the first place.
And as far as the scammers, anytime you see one, please continue to let the managers know, so that the post can be taken down quickly. We really do appreciate it when folks help us out that way !

Sorry Eric, but if a response that polite irritates you you need to step away from the computer. The internet is not the place for you.
The scammers are violating the rules by posting here. You violated the rules by using profanity. Many sites would ban you and not even tell you why.
If it were possible for the moderators to edit posts it would be exceptionally nice of them if they did so in such a case, but I see no reason why deleting it and asking you to repost is the least bit unreasonable.
