After talking with Dr Lauren for almost two hours my amusement and patients was at its end. Not sure why I let it go on for that long before ending the conversation, by the time I did I was pretty irritated. I came here to post a warning and my thoughts on the situation, I also sent an FU out to the scamers. Then I find out I had to retype the post cause it was deleted just topped the cake.
I use my blackberry for internet so posting for me is slow. I don't post often but this situation called for a heads up in my opinion.
I was unaware the site was out of date and the mods can only delete or reply. That does add a little light to the situation. Still not happy about my post being deleted but lesson learned leave the fu out of it.

Clara adds were seen for quite a while , but there's no sense in fighting on a web site , and i see them adds that had so much profanity in them are still beeing seen on this site . Everything is done on a person to person basis . This organization had so much meaning before . I'm not on here as much as i use to be . but now i just stop through here and there . Once again check out boaddiction , you can edit your own posts there , whether it be a classified or a forum , you have the complete power to change anything you put on there . And as far as scammers go , just about everyone tries to scam someone , whether it's being a no show , Not sending merchandise , or being way over priced . Anything i sell on this site , i sell at cost . And thats only to see it go to an experienced home . I haven't made a dollar off anyone on this site and don't intend to . But most everyone on here is grown . And as a request on everyones behalf could we ask that management try not to be so cocky in some situations . Yall are supposed to be seting an example . And if they see yall do'n it they'll do it . It would really be great to see this site improve .

The moderators go out of their way to alert people about scammers. We made specieal posts and notices but could not delete their ad till we had proof.
Yes, we only have two options here unlike other sites: Reply or Delete as Karl mentioned. You could have reposted with out the profanity, wait, have trouble with word with more than four letters?
I knew somebody was dumb enough to fall for the "Clara" ad, too bad it had to be you.

I didn't get scammed by anyone, I just thought I'd give a heads up, that they have stepped up to instant messengers.
By the way I like four letter words ;) Especially when sending them out to some jerk off that thinks he/she is running a scam trying to make a quick buck.
Don't worry this whole thread can be deleted. I don't send my money to anyone or any business that doesn't have great credibility, so I'm in no fear of getting scammed and don't much care if someone else does.
This whole thread is arguing something that is really not my problem.

oh my god . a site manager being a smarta** . The shhs / Venomousreptiles.org has become a laughing stock of the online herp community . And i don't believe Harper is gonna enjoy reading any of this thread . Once again , can we at least act grown ? Whatever happen to dues , quarterly newsletters , all the cool herping trips . It has gone from conservation to entertainment .

So What! Just because I am part of the web team, doesn't mean I have a muzzle on. I call it like I see it or if you like, Say what I mean and mean what I say.
Too many people think were a bunch of "Nannys" to make sure you don't stub your toe or eat something bad, well were not. How many times must someone be told "If it's sounds too good to be true, it probally is" The crux of the issue is people don't take a step back and do any research or ask someone like a "webteam member" if they know these people. Maybe a trip to BOI to see if they have anything on the vendor, no lets jump in blindly and blame anyone we can if it doesn't work out.
The classifieds are an OPEN, FREE resource unlike other sites on the web. We just require you fill out your profile completely, whether it's factual information is another issue because it's not verified. We even caught heat from people because we require this for the priviledge of posting an ad.

"Hey People...This is not rocket science.
1) Selling or soliciting (buying) Prescription drugs even for Vet use is a violation of the law. It won't fly here on SHHS. It invites lots of trouble.
2)Selling venomous snakes and listing a phone number or address in a "Permit" state like MA or NJ is just asking for a visit from F&W or DEP.
3) If someone is offering animals that are rare or protected, is really screaming out "Scam" or "I don't have enough problems in my life, how about a Lacy act violation to spice it up some"
Always ask for verifyable references and legal documentation before sending $$. A little work up front saves money and aggravation.

Al here's a great example, I tell the scammers to F off in my post and it gets deleted. Someone post basically calling the web team jack asses in the title that shows up on the main page and that's ok.
Go figure,
You are right Al, I should have used more than a four letter word.

It'll be the laugh at repticon . People will talk about it there . I've seen 14 year old kids on this site with more manners than some of the other elders .
