Snakes Not Growing!

Maybe I'm a little over paranoid but I'm not noticing my snakes growing! I caught two neonate Southern Pacific rattlesnakes last April, when I caught them they had the one button they are born with, they both have about 4 rattles now and they are about 1.5 feet long. They are now taking adult mice with very little problems but they still seem pretty undersized to me. The reason why I'm so paranoid is that a good number of years back a friend's bearded dragons had babies. He gave me one of the babies and I kept it much like a snake, not knowing any better at the time. I gave it the UVA light, fed it sparringly, and didn't give it any additional calcium of vitamin supplements it needed. Had it for several years and it never got close to an adult size before I realized my error and gave it away. IS THERE ANYTHING I NEED TO KNOW? I'm feeding these guys once every 2 weeks, they have water, and they have a heat source. Thanks in advance and have a great day.

Contrary to what a lot of people will say, young rattlesnakes need to eat at least once a week. If you really want them to grow fast ,feed every three days with smaller prey items. Once they reach adult size you can resume feeding every week and a half, or two weeks, otherwise they will get obese. I have raised many rattlesnakes on this feeding schedule, and they will get huge. However, you have to start feeding them every 3 days when they are young, if not they will never grow that large.

I agree. Feed young rattlesnakes every week.
The helleri I have known to grow a little slow to begin with, but they need that nutrition every week.
