The bill prohibits the sale of under aged dogs and cats and prohibits the sale or donation of any live animal from roadsides, parking lots ect. UPDATE: California AB1122 Hearing Canceled by USARK Admin on Thu May 07, 2009 11:21 am Yesterday there was a hearing scheduled for AB 1122 in the California Assembly in front of the Appropriations Committee. It was canceled at the last minute by the bill's author. This was likely due to the efforts of USARK, The Reptile Nation and many other groups opposed to the bill. USARK and the Reptile Nation were responsible for 5,127 emails and hundreds of phone calls to the Assembly Members on the Appropriations Committee over a 24 hour period. There were many other animal interests that mobilized against AB 1122 as well... but USARK is not able to track their efforts as we are able to do for our own members. This is not over! This bill will probably be scheduled for a new hearing in the near future. Stay Vigilante!
