hey all, just a quick question for those who know. now pine and cedar oils are toxic to snakes, what about feeders that were kept in pine and then fed to your snakes? i have gotten frozen rats from a pet store and they have had a few shavings on them (pine). also many pet stores i buy feeders from reach right into a pine filled tank to get them. is there enough oil on the feeders to potentialy be toxic to my snakes? or is it to small of an amount to worry about? thanks, Danny

Danny, I raise my feeder rodents on Pine, and do not think it poses a danger to the snake who eat the rodents.
I do not use Cedar to raise rodents, as I think that it can leave dangerous oils in the rodent fur.
Best Regards
