Do you mean because he says the confirmation of the cobra being venomoid was proven when it has bitten him? You've got a point!
I wonder if it was the chicken or the egg? In other words, did he let it bite him to find out if it was really "venomoid", or was he bitten, nothing happened, so he thought "it must be venomoid after all"?
I would't use him as a positive example of a responsible keeper.

That is one of the reasons why I am totally against venomoiding. It can promote careless handling, among other things.

Are there more stupid people now than in the past, or, do we just see more of it because of the internet and TV ? Most likely, more stupid people per capata then in the past.
I think it is a product of the 80's generation. Anyone who was dumb enough to follow the Beatles, or Disco, or wear leasure suits, or afros, should have not been allowed to sire kids, LOL !
That ought to throw a rock into a hornets nest, LOL.

I mean things seem to be getting worst every day, at least that's the way it looks.
I hate to say this, but it looks like Venomoids are the thing of the future even if its not safe or right. The true Venomous Keeper, Venomous being the key word is literally disappearing. Due to the availability of the New Unvenomous Safe Venomous Snake.
It is becoming the norm today, for people to dismiss the Health & Well Being of their Snake for the ability to Show Off.
Shame, But True

Easy there John! :-) My parents listened to the Beetles, and I'm pretty sure Dad had an afro. I turned out fine. OK, so maybe that's not the best argument :-)
I think that the major problem is that few people have to work through problems anymore. When you don't take time to challenge your brain it tends to atrophy as you fill it with garbage from advertisements. People tend to confuse the real world and the world that pop-culture would have you believe. At any rate, you should read "Last child in the Woods". Some of it is pretty iffy, but the meat of it is dead on. Helps to explain why the population is the way it is. Truly sad.

Well, venomoid snakes still produce venomous offspring.
There will always be the nitwhit who wants to show off handling his pet venomoid snake, and the venomoid producers thrive off those types of morons.
More of the mentality from Jackass and Wildboyz. Stupid young males who think they can make up for their lack of testosterone by playing with what appear to be dangerous snakes.

For the record, I used to throw rocks at hornet's nests. :)

Nature's pinata! LOL. But the reward might not be quite as sweet.
Doug, you must have had quite a throwing arm, or have been a very fast runner, LOL.
Those suckers will chase you a long, long way !
One thing that has always freeked me out a bit about hornets, it the way they will fly down and "bump" you, (without stinging), if you get too close to the nest.
Best Regards
