OMG, how scary, Royal python is really Ball python, 3-5 feet when full grown, they should be happy it is at large, as it doesn’t eat anything bigger than mouse or small rat, so it might solve UK rat infestation...grrr...must be another SLOOOOW day for UK tabloids...I guess Madonna or Angelina Jolie are not adopting any ethnic kids today???

Police hunt for five foot python
By Brian Farmer, Press Association
Thursday, 11 June 2009
Police were today on the lookout for a five foot python which escaped in a city.
The snake disappeared from a property in Cambridge early on Wednesday and police said anyone who spotted it should alert them.
A spokeswoman said the snake was a brown royal python which was privately owned.
"We had a report yesterday that a five foot long python had escaped in Cambridge," said the spokeswoman.
"It was described as brown in colour and the owner described it as friendly.
"We contacted the RSPCA and the local authority and if anyone sees it they should let us know."

I've seen some "whoppers"-old female Ball Pythons-that MIGHT have been four-and-a-half feet long, tops. Three feet seems more normal, though.

It is my understanding that 'Super balls' (ball python x Blood Python hybrids) get pretty big. Why do people mess with nature so?
