Good luck, doubt you'll have any success without the proper license.
Where are you located? If you are in the lower 48, most hospitals carry it. Given your history, however, I would recommend tennis or some other non-lethal recreation.

Thanks Wls967, I found it and I did not need a license to get it. I am not waiting for the antvenin from a hospital. if I get tagged I will start it my self. The only snakes I now keep are african Elapids. And I hate tennis. Spanky

Hi Spanky, you may want to take note that Protherics only produce Anti-venom for the North American pit vipers (CroFab)and the European Adder,V berus.(ViperaTab)Both of which are NO use for African elapids. And you certainly don't want to go injecting yourself with AV.

Hey Rabies, The antivenin is from ( Saimr polyalent) it is still the hourse AV, but taken with adrenline, should work ok. And I am talking about Elapid antivenin. And yes you can start the antivenin your self. If you know how to do it. (I do) you see as much as I have been biten,( HAVE BEEN BITEN) it is good to know how to treat your self. All my info comes from the antivenin dealers, (and a snake bite doctor.) so anyway, I am doing my home work. I start school this summer, for Biology. I hope to get into venom research. Thanks Spanky

Spanky....I supported you in the fact that you still want to venomous keep snakes after all of your previous experiences, however, I am COMPLETELY AGAINST you keeping Elapids. I do not want to discus it, just voicing my opinion.

Well Chris, The way I see it, is rattlesnakes will kill me just as fast, with the allergy to the venom. besides, I won't take the chances with Elapids, as I did with rattlers. ( I DO NOT HANDLE MY SNAKES ANY MORE) I use hide boxs with doors.look You at it this way, If I don't post anymore. (I'm Dead) And you all won't have anyone to get mad at. "LOL" Thanks for the concern. Spanky

not that i suggest freehandling, or trying to disprove me....but id imagine 95% of elapid keepers could do anything you did when you got bit with ease. You just dont suit it in my opinion. What sp/ssp do you keep anyway?

Hey Chris, Well the only venomous snake I have right now is a 4 foot black necked spitting cobra. all others are non-venomous. But I plan to have many cobras, and other Elapids. And I do not think others would have been doing what I did to get bit with an Elapid. But I am not going to get into that. And I will send a post in a year or so, and tell you how I'm doing with my Elapids. I don't think it's best to do much more posting here for now, I love your site, and will look in on it all the time. But till I can say I have handled Elapids for a year or so with out getting tagged. I feel I am getting no where with my posts. I am not giving up venomous snakes. (not for anything.) But I will post when the time is right. Thank all of you for your time, and advice. Spanky
