Well.... no Boiga has ever actually caused a documented fatality, AFAIK, although they have certainly caused seriously unplaeasant bites, far more so than anything reported for any Telescopus.
If someone were bitten by a Telescopus and the fangs went in, things to look out for would be any of the following: headache, numbness, tingling, nausea, vomiting, weird taste sensations etc. - anything beyond minor local pain and swelling would be a reason to go to the ER, just in case.
Paralysis of facial muscles (drooping eyelids, slurred speech etc.) would be signs of an acute emergency, potentially preceding a compromised airway or respiratory paralysis - you can see why you would want to head to the ER long before any of this happens.
This isn't supposed to alarm anyone, and I stress that these consequences are EXTREMELY unlikely - I have never heard of any serious bites by any Telescopus, and African herpers tend to be a good deal more concerned about things like Psammophis etc., but forewarned is forearmed - you don't want to be the first to find out that they are more dangerous than it says in the books, and given the lab results, that cannot be 100% excluded.
Enjoy your snakes - I'm sure you won't have any problems with them, just use common sense and don't let them chew on you.
Cheers,
WW
