hi all! I would just like to know how venomous eyelash vipers are! Would a bite be fatal??? There won't be any anti venom available for exotics here in south africa where i live! If any one has any experience with this species, please share with me!!!! happy herpin1

They are not normally regarded as fatat. However, deaths have been recoreded, such as the plantation worker who somehow got bit on the tongue!
Doesn't mean you might not lose a finger though. Why don't you import some of the Mexican or Central American antivenom. (depending on what snakes you keeping). Those antivenoms are quite cheap and the Mexican antivenoms in particular are getting very nice indeed.
