Bats are indeed smart little dudes. I rehabbed a lot of bats years ago and that meant interacting with them for days, weeks even longer in some cases. It was amazing to watch what they picked up and figured out in such a short time. Even had a few that loved to watch TV. But only till 6 am, then it was bedtime!
Jim, if you are lurking about, you have parviocula, maybe I can get some venom and see what shakes loose?

Also, Vampires when they escape from their enclosure, scurry to a hiding place, back in, and watch you. Nothing, I mean no amount of noise or banging, startles them and makes them move, thus, making them difficult to re-catch. Very intelligent bats! Nothing seems to startle one.

Heck yeah! Beer and Vampire bats go together like....well, I'm not sure, but it sounds cool!
