Hello all! I am new to this site, and I must say I am quite impressed! Unfortunatly, I have a little problem... I might be returning to the Navy, and if so I would have to either give up my snakes, or find a temporary boarding solution for a few months. Currently I have a 20" Gaboon Viper, a 18" Prarie rattlesnake, and a 18" Crotalus Molussus Molussus (which is a very beautiful green!). I really do not want to give the snakes up, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do. I currently live in VA, and I am not aware of any dealers/breeders, etc, in VA that handle hots, or that would be willing to take at least the Gaboon off my hands if it comes down to that. (The C. Molussus I plan on releasing in AZ exactly where I "borrowed" him from) If I have to get rid of these snakes, I DO NOT want them going to irresponsible or inexperienced hands, the same way I wouldnt give a M-4 (machine gun) to someone without any firearms experience - its just asking for trouble. I have been keeping venomous snakes over half my life and have never come close to being bitten (knock on wood!!!) and I dont know anyone with the experience needed to keep such lethal animals, if even for a few months. If anyone here knows of a possible solution , I am all ears! (or eyes...?)
Thank you!
