I have never bred black ratsnakes, but I would assume them to be like most other colubrids. I would incubate them at 80-83F, hatching times vary quite a bit. Some are reportedly as early as 55 days, most colubrids are listed as 55-80 days. My eggs generally hatch around 70-75 days. I mist my eggs every 3-4 days, a lot of breeders say not to mist the eggs directly but I have never had any problems. I use vermiculite as a medium mixed approximately 1:1 by weight with water. I place my eggs about halfway out of the medium, if they are separated. If they are stuck together, I try to make sure none are competely submerged beneath the vermiculite. Hope this helps, email if you have any questions you think I can help you with.
