Rob you are right abou just about all you said.The guys in SA are crazy to do that.I said it wrong all I meant was that compared to a big blackneck a lubricus bite would be easyer managed.Both could most likely kill some one.Lately I have not been expressing my self very well and need guys like you to shut me up when I get a little ahead of my self thanks.

No worries Archie - I know you were expressing the feelings of the dudes in S.A. - it's just that we don't want to take the little elapids any less lightly than the nasty ones like kaouthia and I'm sure that's what you meant to say. That's always the problem with email and online forums - it's really hard to express your true intent in writing w/out being able to discuss it....gets me in trouble with my bosses all the time. No biggie.

You're definitely right Rob, I'm not going to get into this with any false pretenses of owning a 'safe' elapid. I have a contingency plan in place and before I decide on any species, I will be discussing the matter with an antivenin bank that operates in my area.
The coral cobras do sound attractive though.
