Here's the ad that I saw while browsing the classifieds:
"Otto
Wanted
burms or retics
hatchling burmese or retic ulated
python for under 75$"
I think this is the guy that was posting classifieds a couple of months ago selling "beaded li zards" and some snakes at inconsistent prices.
It seems he's out of the 'li zard' business and into the 'retic ulated' python business.... and he still hasn't filled out his profile.
Otto, if you read this, PLEASE fill out your profile. I hope you're not a scammer, but your ads are very suspicious. There are a lot of dedicated reptile experts on this site and the information you have posted in both your ads seems to lack professionalism and knowledge.
I know that everyone starts somewhere in this hobby and none of us started off konwing everything about reptiles, but I think if you're going to sell something on this site you should at least fill out your profile and know enough to spell the species properly.

When you folks see a suspicious ad, just Google the phone number the folks list. And, Google the persons or business name.
If you had done that, you would have found that the same individual who was offering the ball pythons is also offering Crude Palmoil in the UK, and is offering Capuchin monkeys for sale in Austria, and house broken hyacinth macaw female to folks in Rhode Island. All from the same foreign telephone number.
The +44 at the start of the telephone number should be enough for you to read no further. That international code is from Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey, and parts of the UK. Do you really think there is some dude on the Isle of Man raising super morphs of Ball Pythons, that they are going to send to you at a fraction of the normal cost ???
If you get cheated by someone like that, it is your own fault, because you are a dumb ass !
If you see an ad that is too good to be true, and you send your money off to some stranger half way around the world, based on a free classified ad that you see on a website where anyone can post, then you deserve to be cheated. Hopefully, it will teach you a valuable lesson.
There is no way that this website can vouch for any ad that is posted in our free classifieds. You should be highly suspicious of ANY ad you see there, and use due diligence in checking up on the legitimacy of the person posting.
If the person posting claims to be a reptile dealer, check up on them on Fauna Classifieds.
Ask them for the names and phone numbers of many previous customers for reference, then follow up and call the folks they supposedly did business with.
It is amazing how quickly folks will criticize the site managers here about not quickly removing an ad that might be a scam. What you folks don't know is that Al and Karl write many hundreds of Emails each year to folks posting ads, and ask them to post more information, and to fill out their profiles. If the people do not respond, then the ads are deleted.
That is all volunteer work, they are not being paid to watch the ads to prevent you from being taken by a scam. They do that because they care. And, instead of thanking them for removing the hundreds, and hundreds of obvious scam ads every year, folks will post something like "I don't know why the site administrators have not removed that yet," and bitch and complain about the few scam ads that get through.
If you do not like the way the site administrators are watching the site, then get the heck off the site.
There are many, many other internet reptile sites that you can go to visit. We sure do not want your whiny attitude here.
Best Regards
John Z

And, I am not talking about Charles or Luke, who did the right thing in pointing out the scam. That is fine, and it is appreciated.
I am talking about the folks who are so quick to criticize a site manager because an scam ad is not removed quickly. We all know who those folks are, as we see them doing that same thing time and time again.

Had to work a double yesterday - went in at 7 AM and got home at 11 PM so did not even check the site - sorry. Had to be back in at 7 AM this morning and so, leaving at 6 AM, did not get to check them this morning.
Just sorted through the ads and the latest three did not meet our profile requirements and so are gone.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
