So, when the oil hits the shores, many marine and wetland ecosystems will be destroyed. I have heard about the fish, inverts, and birds. Are any unique snake populations at risk?

Yes.
There are islands in the Gulf that house many unique reptile / amphibian populations.
This thing is going to be a mess for years.

Is there anything being done to maintain captive populations of the wildlife and to re-introduce them after the spill has been cleaned up?

They're not snakes...but the coastal wetlands affected by the oil right now are homes to the Diamondback Terrapin. Probably my favorite turtle.
