Reported 13 deaths since 1980 by pet constrictors....now lets compare that to I dunno, domesticated horse and dog fatalities. If the snakes are such a huge problem why hasnt anyone addressed the saltwater aquarium community and the fact that since all those LIONFISH got out in Miami a few years back they are wreaking havoc in the atlantic, have no natural predators, and are destroying our ecosystem!!! And ya know SINCE I CAN CATCH THEM OFF VA BEACH NOW!!! ITS ALL POLITICS< AND WE ARE ON THE SHORT END OF THE STICK!!!

Here are some statistics included in the report I'm writing to lobby my local government to lift the ban on reptiles as pets:
One out of every 2 people in the U.S. will be bitten by a dog or cat during their lifetime.
• Bites result in 334,000-368,000 emergency room (ER) visits/year, representing approximately 0.4-1.5% of all ER visits, at an annual cost of approximately $100-165 million dollars in health care expenses and lost income.
• About 1-1.8% of bites require hospitalization.
• The majority of bites are from dogs (80%).
• 30-85% of bites are due to a family's own or a neighbour’s animal.
• Children are the most frequent victims of dog bites, with 5-9 year-old boys having the highest incidence.
• From 1979-1996, dog bites resulted in >300 deaths in the U.S.

I read the other day in an article that 48,000 Americans have been killed by illegal aliens since 9-11. But no need to worry about that when there are a real important things like a couple of constrictor related deaths every decade. Take care, Marty
