I'd like to know what others think of this.
I found these papers yesterday and got sucked right in. They're both 2010 World Health Organization guidlines for the management of snakebite (in PDF format). They're very detailed guidelines for doctors to reference at the hospital for bites from exotic species.
This first one was released by the South-East Asia office of the WHO (and it's better than the other one IMO), but much of the information therein pertains to any snakebite emergency, not just to Asian species. It also includes a section for treatment options before antivenin arrives or if it isn't available.

This next one is also from the WHO for management of snakebite in Africa. Some of the information is specifically tailored for rural African doctors and medical systems, but it has good information on species endemic to Africa. IMO it's a good publication to have for a keeper of any African snake, but you would have to remove some portions of the paper that would have no relevance to a private collector.
I tried posting the link for this paper but I'm having trouble getting the PDF link, so just google: "Guidelines for the Prevention and Clinical Management of Snakebite in Africa WHO 2010" and you shouldn't have trouble finding it.
As soon as I read them I printed them out and put them in the hot room along with my species-specific protocols.
Has anyone else seen these documents? What does anyone on here think of them? Do you think they would make a big difference in then event of a bite?
