I've never been bitten in the foot. If I'm not in bed, in the shower, or swimming, or at work, I have boots on. I don't own a pair of sandles/flip-flops, I have a pair of Nikes that are aprox, 15 years old and have been worn less than 10 times. I don't ever go outside barefoot, so therefore, I don't even enter my hotroom barefoot.(my hotroom is in an outbuilding) Depending on if I'm wearing work clothes or non work clothes, I'll always either be wearing shoes or boots. Take care, Marty

My only questions would be,... "We've got to catch the animal and put it in its cage before the paramedics get here, so no one else gets hurt."
Five minutes later, the 25-year-old expert and collector of more than 50 snakes went into cardiac arrest and never awoke. He was pronounced dead an hour later at Frederick Memorial Hospital.... After my bite, I never said a word, I just re-hooked the snake and put it back in it's cage. How much time elapsed between the bite and the decision to recapture? And "five minutes later, the expert and collector of more than 50 snakes".... what made him an expert? 50 snakes? I have more than 50 snakes and don't consider myself an expert. And who was watching the clock? Did it take them 3 hours to find and recapture the snake before, "5 minutes later"? Just questions I would have from reading the article. I don't know anything about the person that was bitten or his experience. Take care, Marty

I think the operative words in this article are bite, foot, and dead.
I just noticed that this link is on VenomousReptiles.org

Of the people who work with venomous, how many have been bitten on the foot while working with venomous? Not me.
Of the people who work with venomous, other than in a professional workplace, how many work venomous with boots on? Not usually
Of the people who work with venomous, other than in a professional workplace, how many work venomous with shoes on? I almost always wear running shoes of some kind.
Of the people who work with venomous, other than in a professional workplace, how many work venomous while barefoot? Now I always make a habit of wearing shoes, but I remember some times in the past at home when I worked with socked feet.
