Noticed... Anyone else who knows a bit about this species?
Two people answered, both never kept Dendroaspis, and both can`t really ad something to the topic and one fills a site with saying nothing relevant. So who's the troll?
Is it information and conversation about such things or is it the name which makes a forum? Think about it.
regards,
Roland

Roland The average size of this snake is 4.5 to 6.5 feet in length. The venom is primarily neurotoxic but may also contain cardiotoxins. Venom yeilds average about 70 mg. Lethal dose maybe half of the average yeild. Temperment varys from each animal, most of them that I have dealt with were not very nervous, but you must respect it,and treat it with the respect it deserves . No venomous snake is tame, it is just waiting for a chance to strike and given the chance the out come in most cases will not be in the favor of the keeper. Chris

Anyone else find it funny that he argues with a site administrator and then asks for the guy who deletes posts to have his post deleted? It is often a good idea to see who you are talking to before you get uppity. I doubt Karl is going to delete himself.

I guess nobody caught the irony that it happend during a discusion about the merits of having a system that helps you know who you are talking to

Yep. I found it funny. Im not arguing with "I`m an admin".. I just want him havin noticed that nothing I can fill in my profile will give him the feeling that he knows who he is talking to. Just to show how trivial a filled profile is. If he take a look in the posted Forum, than he can make himself a picture about not.
And the reason I want that someone delete this "discussion" is simple the fact that it`s filling sites whit saying nothing about the topic.
Take a look at the progress. Two sites full. How much of that has somethin to do with my question?Exactly 6 Lines!? Thanks to Chris for them.
Take a look at what most of you want to represent:
Quote"Ask the Southeastern Hot Herp Society experts a question... get an answer!"
Now... I`ve asked some questions and what comes up? Something that looks like "The experts are too busy to answer questions to "NoNames"...
BTW: Most of them can`t even answer them...
So. If this community wants this Board as dead as it is at moment you`re doing it the right way.

Why the chip on your shoulder? There's a right way and a wrong way to get the info you want. All the admin asked of you was for you put in your profile info. There's a lot of folks with many years of experience in keeping jamesoni who are happy to provide the info you want but you need some tact in how you approach folks. This site is an amazing resource for not just the keeping of venomous herps, but lots of species and genera. Just put your profile info into the site per their policies, re-ask your question and I can guarantee you that you'll get the info you are looking for. I have kept one for a number of years but there are others with a lot of experience with them.

I too have kept D. jamesoni, as well as read and researched everything that I could find regarding venom, etc. (Which I do with any and all species that I keep, or may keep in the future. And I've talked to several of the people performing these studies personally, every chance I get ). Unfortunate that doing ones own research doesn't seem to be a popular trend anymore.
I have what I believe to be pretty good answers to the questions asked, based on my experience and my research.
However, I have avoided this thread up until now, for obvious reasons..
I can't speak for everyone, but I know that others have avoided posting to this thread, too.
Why would anyone take the time to reply to this..?
The folks that come here to post, volunteer to do so. Nobody here receives anything for their contribution, except the satisfaction of knowing that they've helped out a fellow herper. But, when one comes demanding information, with an attitude, acting like we are obligated to provide them an answer to their questions, folks are going to avoid the thread entirely. Now that this discussion has devolved into this, who would want to be a part of it..?
That’s my two cents.. When folks come, eager to learn, are cooperative, and politely ask for assistance, and the topic is something that I feel I can help out with, I have no problem helping.. Those who come here acting like the folks here owe them and answer, well….
‘You catch more bees with honey, than with vinegar..’ You will likely find more help here in being polite, friendly, and cooperative, than otherwise..
